Sauf que 140 caractères pour un message Twitter, c’est vraiment trop court. Twitter n’est pas un miniblog, c’est plutôt un service de messagerie instantanée à sens unique, archivé afin de constituer un journal chronologique des moindres (plus ou moins, chacun est libre d’adopter la fréquence qu’il veut) de tout ce que nous faisons.

Tumblr remplit donc bien un créneau qui n’est couvert ni par le vrai blog àla WordPress ou TypePad, avec commentaires et pages sttiques, ni par Twitter.

Personnellement, afin de distinguer les trois types de contenu, j’utilise désormais :

(1) un blog WordPress pour tout ce qui est abouti et entièrement rédigé par moi ;

(2) un Tumblr pour conserver la trace des liens, citations, images sur lesquels je tombe mais que je retranscris tels quel sans y ajouter de valeur ;

(3) un Twitter que je nourris, en principe, quotidiennement, des événements intéressants de ma vie (j’évite les posts du genre « Je me suis levé, il fait beau aujourdhui, youpi »).
